Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, loading and unloading materials, and setting up equipment.
- Carry and distribute materials such as lumber, concrete, and tools to designated locations on the site.
- Operate hand and power tools (under supervision), such as shovels, jackhammers, and drills, as needed.
- Perform physical tasks, including digging trenches, mixing concrete, or assisting skilled tradespeople.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the construction site, ensuring a safe and hazard-free environment.
- Follow safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
- Collaborate with the construction team, follow instructions from supervisors, and contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions, work well in a team, and maintain a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is advantageous.
- Willingness to comply with safety standards and regulations.
Tasks
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
- Mix, pour and spread materials
- Clean and pile salvaged materials
- Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Shovel cement and other materials into cement mixers, spread concrete and asphalt on road surfaces using shovels, rakes and hand tampers
