Responsibilities:
- Greet customers entering the establishment in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Scan items, process sales transactions using a cash register or POS system, and ensure accuracy in pricing.
- Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and provide correct change to customers while following company cash-handling procedures.
- Assist customers by answering inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information about products/services.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including keeping counters free of clutter and ensuring adequate supplies (receipt paper, bags, etc.) are available.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth checkout process and efficient customer flow during busy periods.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude when interacting with customers.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in using cash registers, POS systems, or similar equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
