Responsibilities:
- Greet customers entering the establishment and provide them with a welcoming and positive shopping/dining experience.
- Scan items, process sales transactions using a cash register, POS system, or other payment methods, and ensure accuracy in pricing.
- Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and provide accurate change to customers while adhering to company cash-handling policies.
- Respond to customer inquiries, resolve complaints or concerns, and escalate issues as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including keeping counters free of clutter and ensuring adequate supplies (receipt paper, bags, etc.) are available.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, restocking merchandise, and monitoring the availability of items on the sales floor.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth checkout process and efficient customer flow during busy periods.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude when interacting with customers.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS systems or cash registers is advantageous.
